Preparing the paint before applying wax protection

To maximize the full potential of Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax, start with a freshly washed vehicle. Always use a pH-balanced car wash soap, such as Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax. Then, run clean, dry fingertips over the paint. If the paint feels rough to the touch, it indicates that you have bonded contaminants on the paint. These are things like tree sap, industrial fallout, road tar, and overspray paint. Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit comes with everything you need to safely remove bonded contaminants from the paint and leave it as smooth as glass. Finally, inspect the paint for surface defects. If you have light to moderate swirls, scratches, oxidation, water spots, or etching, you would want to use a product like Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. From there, you will follow up with a polish like Meguiar's Ultimate Polish for maximum shine before applying your wax. Applying Ultimate Liquid Wax

• One of the biggest mistakes people make when applying wax is applying it too thick. This only prolongs the drying time, makes the liquid wax harder to remove, and will cause you to use more product than necessary. Always spread the wax as thin and evenly as possible while achieving an even coverage on the surface.
• Shake the product well.
• For best results, apply a very thin layer of Ultimate Wax to a clean, cool surface, in the shade. Apply to one body panel at a time and allow 5-10 minutes of initial curing time before removal. Wipe off with the included microfiber towel, turning to the clean side for a final wipe.
• Continue moving around the vehicle, repeating steps 1-4 until you are finished.
• Please note that low temperatures and/or high humidity may extend the initial curing time of this synthetic wax.
• Ultimate Wax can be used in direct sunlight; however, work in smaller sections and wipe off more quickly.
